The last get-together of 2003 and almost Christmas. This year sure went fast!

Today we had 17 QRP'ers and guests at Barney's in Seneca for lunch and to share the latest QRP and home-building news. There were several neat projects for show-and-tell as well as a "share the wealth" raffle drawing.

The pictures below are "clickable" to view a larger image file.  Somehow, a few of the guys missed getting their pictures snapped this month.....

Tom, N2UHC shows us his brand new SW30+ project that he just finished.

Tom built the SW30+ kit into a box scavenged out of an old factory remote controlled crane controller. Tom says that it works as nice as it looks!

Tommy, WD5AGO brought several projects for show-and tell. Besides QRP, Tommy is an avid VHF/UHF weak signal operator.

Tommy scratch-built this beautiful brass paddle. The contacts are all made of gold for ultra low resistance! Very nice.

Here is something we don't usually see at a QRP gathering! This is a 432 MHz LNA (low noise amplifier) scratch built by Tommy, WD5AGO. This is a receiver front-end used by UHF moonbounce operators.

A close-up view the 432 MHz LNA board. This amplifier has a .3 dB noise figure and uses a Agilent ATF33143 HEMP (High Electron Mobility Transistor).

Tommy, WD5AGO is designing on a 17 meter CW transceiver. So far, he has the receiver working.

The innards of the 17 meter project reveals the neat construction. The transmitter board is going to fit in there somewhere!

On the right is Joe, WØMQY and on the left is Bart, N5WL who recently moved to Pittsburg, Kansas. Welcome to the 4SQRP Group Bart!

More of the 4SQRP gang. On the left is Ron, N5NZO from Midwest City, OK who attended for the first time . Welcome aboard Ron! In the center is Martin, WD6FIC and Tommy, WD5AGO is on the right.

From the left front to the right is JC K5DMI, Cecil NØEHP, Jim Newton and Jim KK5PT.

Jay, KØETC besides being an expert builder, is also a VHF operator and is currently at 99 DXCC countries worked on 6 meters.

On the right is Nancy, NØFNZ and on the left is son Tony. Look closely on the table and you will see WØMQY's Sierra station, all hooked up and ready to operate. The portable antenna is just out of the picture.

In keeping with the Christmas spirit, this month we have a "share the wealth" raffle drawing. There are lots of really nice goodies here waiting to find new homes.

Dave, WØCH finally got his picture on a monthly meeting report!

Our host Barney takes really good care to see that we are well fed each month. Barney is smiling because after dinner he is closing the restaurant for two months of well deserved vacation!

For the next two months, we will be meeting at the historic Redings Mill Inn located just south of Joplin. Be sure to check the 4SQRP web site for driving directions to Redings Mill.
