November's luncheon get-together was held on Saturday, November 16th at Barney's Kitchen in Seneca, Missouri. We had 18 in attendance for lunch today. Kansas was exceptionally well represented with a group of 5 QRP'ers and homebrewers driving over from the Augusta and El Dorado area to join the fun.

Bill KØCIY from El Dorado, KS on the left visiting with Jay KØETC. Ira, KD5AUX is on the right. |
Looks like Joe, WØMQY is showing us the cabinet size of his next QRP rig. Russ NØQLT is in the foreground. Gene, NØMQ and Foy, KCØOCK are on Joe's right. |
Jay KØETC brought several DX QSL cards, including Japan, for contacts on six meters. Jay is getting very close to DXCC on 6 meters.

Dick NØTGR from Augusta, KS is showing us the Warbler that Dennis KCØIFQ built and uses on the Four State Wednesday Warble. |
Ira KD5AUX recently obtained this beautiful 40 meter rig from the UK. |
One of the main activities is the sharing of ideas by bringing rigs and consecution projects.
|
Larry ABØAH from Augusta, KS built this very nice Small Wonder 40+ CW transceiver. |
The innards of Larry's 40 meter rig. |

Tom N2UHC is looking at the "No Excuses" article in QST. That's Dean, NO5E over on the right. Nancy, NØFNZ is back in the corner with Rex, KC5UVN barely visible in the left side of the photo. |
|
Gene, NØMQ shows us how to make a neat tilt stand for K1 rigs. It is a plastic picture stand with kitchen shelf covering. This makes a very nice nonskid tilt stand for only a couple of dollars. |

Lunch time at Barney's is always good eating! |
Doug, this one's for you! |
We want to publicly thank Doug Hendricks, KI6DS for all the support he has given to the Four State QRP Group with kits, component parts and schematics to enable our members to make many of the home constructed projects a reality! Thank you Doug!
|
Jim WBØIYC shows us the size of the tenderloin in his sandwich while J.C. K5DMI looks on in amazement! |
That's Barney, checking to make sure we have enough to eat. |
Lunch time is always the high point of the get-togethers. Barney takes good care of us and tolerates our craziness.
|
Jay, KØETC shows us his home brew 20 meter transceiver that his is building. |
Jay's Manhattan style transceiver. The VFO is in the solid aluminum box and the main transceiver RF board is below. |
The next group project is the construction of 80 meter CW transceivers to enable everyone to get on 80 for an area net. This will help improve our CW operating proficiency.
|
Sharing of ideas and having fun! |
Russ, NØQLT built this Pixie transceiver in an Altoids tin. A prototype of a 80 meter CW transceiver is above it and a 80 meter VXO using a ceramic resonator is in the upper left. |
After lunch, we adjourned to a nearby facility where Joe, WØMQY demonstrated the art of PC board fabrication. His process took us from developing the art work on a computer, creating the resist pattern on Blue Film, and etching the board. The finished board was perfect. Thanks for the demonstration Joe!
|
Joe WØMQY gave us a demonstration of PC board making. First, you need to have the bare board perfectly clean. |
Joe is using a household iron to apply the Press and Peal Blue Film to the board. |
Our next meeting will be Saturday, December 21th at Barney's Kitchen in Seneca. See you there!
