November in the four states, almost time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Today's weather was overcast with the temperature close to 60 degrees. There were 13 QRP'ers at Barney's in Seneca for lunch and to share the latest QRP and home-building news.

The pictures below are "clickable" to view a larger image file.

Joe WØMQY set up his portable station in Barney's parking lot. One of WØMQY's portable antennas uses army surplus mast sections on a homebrew base and supports a rotatable dipole

Joe, (on the right) explaining the portable setup to (L to R) Pete Banfield, Ira KD5AUX and Rex KC5UVN.

The back of WØMQY's van is QRP-ready! Joe is researching ways to speed the setup process at a portable location, with a goal of being on-the-air in two minutes or less.

Rex KC5UVN modified his Atlas 215X by installing a digital frequency display. The display looks professionally installed and the rig sounded great on Joe's portable dipole.

Another of WØMQY's portable antenna is this homebrew Buddipole style dipole.

Here is a close-up view of the homebrew Buddipole dipole feedpoint. This antenna is made to disassemble easily for transport.

A little better view of the larger rotatable dipole. The elements use Hustler mobile resonators and copper tubing elements.

New members today were Jim, KK5PT on the left (wearing ball cap) and to the right is Lance, KCØKBL, Jim came up from Midwest City, OK and Lance drove over from Springfield, MO. Welcome to the 4SQRP Group guys!

More of the 4SQRP gang. Starting on the left front and going clockwise is Ira KD5AUX, Rex KC5UVN, Rowena Terry, Nancy NØFNZ, Pete Banfield and Joe WØMQY. Not pictured is Jay KØETC.

Next month, we will be getting ready for Christmas and doing more planning for next April's OzarkCon 2004.
